Storage Storage

    Wholesale Upholstered Storage Ottoman

Good storage furniture is harder to get right than it looks. Proportions that photograph well but feel flimsy in person, drawer runners that stick after six months, surface finishes that chip at the edges — these are the kinds of issues that generate returns and damage supplier relationships. We take them seriously.

Our storage range is built to the same construction standards we apply across the rest of our furniture portfolio. Materials are selected for durability and consistency across production runs, not just for appearance in catalog images. Each piece goes through dimensional and finish inspection before shipment, which matters particularly for storage where tolerances on doors and drawers need to be right.

OEM and ODM are fully available — dimensions, internal configurations, finish options, and branding can all be adapted to your requirements. We work with furniture retailers, interior designers, and commercial procurement teams across 30+ countries. If you have a specific storage category in mind, contact us to discuss what's feasible within your timeline and volume.

Board Material Quality: What's Behind the Surface
Most storage furniture is built from board materials — MDF, particleboard, or plywood — rather than solid wood, and the quality differences between boards of similar appearance can be significant. Density matters: higher-density MDF holds screws more reliably and resists edge chipping better than lower-density alternatives. Formaldehyde emission standards vary considerably between manufacturing regions and board grades; E0 and E1 rated boards meet European and North American indoor air quality requirements, while lower-grade boards can off-gas at levels that create compliance problems in those markets. For storage furniture destined for Europe or North America, confirming the board's emission certification — and asking for documentation rather than just a verbal confirmation — is a basic due diligence step. CARB Phase 2 compliance is the relevant standard for the US market; REACH covers Europe.

Hardware and Fitting Quality in Storage Furniture
The hinges, drawer runners, and cam locks in storage furniture are components that buyers rarely examine in detail but that generate a disproportionate share of quality complaints. Soft-close hinges vary considerably in the quality of their damping mechanism — cheaper versions lose their damping action within months of regular use. Drawer runners should be rated for the expected load; full-extension runners allow full access to drawer contents and tend to be more durable than partial-extension versions. Cam lock fittings — used in flat-pack assembly — are a point of failure if the hole placement is imprecise or the fitting quality is poor. For buyers evaluating storage furniture samples, deliberately operating drawers and doors repeatedly, checking alignment after assembly, and confirming hardware brand or specification with the supplier are practical steps that reveal quality differences not apparent in product photography.

Storage Furniture and the Flat-Pack Decision
Whether storage furniture ships assembled or flat-pack has meaningful implications for both logistics and end-user experience. Flat-pack reduces shipping volume significantly — typically allowing three to four times more units per container — which matters considerably for buyers managing landed cost. The trade-off is assembly complexity: furniture that's straightforward for a trained assembly team can frustrate retail consumers who receive it at home. Assembly instruction quality, the precision of hole placement, and the number of separate components all determine whether flat-pack storage furniture generates positive or negative consumer feedback. For buyers supplying flat-pack storage to retail, requesting a dry assembly run on a sample unit before approving production — and reviewing the assembly instructions as a consumer would experience them — is time well spent. Problems found at this stage are significantly cheaper to fix than complaints at scale.
