The latest customs data shows that China's total furniture exports grew by 5.2% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2024, with outdoor and leisure chairs standing out, achieving a year-on-year increase of 8.7%. As a major seating production base in China, Anji, Zhejiang, contributed approximately 40% of the export share in this category.
Industry analysts point out that the growth momentum mainly comes from two aspects: first, the sustained recovery of the global hotel and catering industries driving procurement demand; second, Chinese manufacturers' progress in design innovation and material application, making products better align with international aesthetic and functional needs. Manufacturers with original design capabilities, strict quality control, and large-scale production are securing more OEM orders from international brands.
"Pure price advantages are diminishing," said a trade expert. "Companies like Anji Partner Furniture, which adhere to global certification standards and emphasize craftsmanship details, are more likely to secure long-term and stable overseas orders."
